Swallowing difficulties, also known as Dysphagia is more common than most people realise

Professor David Wright, lead educator at the University of East Anglia, talks about the widespread condition Dysphagia and how the upcoming course “Swallowing Difficulties and Medicines” will give learners a taste of how they can make a difference and learn more.

Swallowing difficulties, also known as Dysphagia is more common than most people realise. Affecting many people from the very young to the very old, all of us at some point may have experienced some degree of swallowing difficulty.

Although this might not cause major issues for individuals who experience this for a short time, it can have a huge impact on those who take medication regularly and those who care for them.

However, there are many options available to different people involved in the care of people with swallowing difficulties. Along with Professor David Wright, other experts in the field will reveal their knowledge in order to help learners manage this issue or gain a wider understanding of Dysphagia.
